An opportunity for leaders to gain skills necessary for a Scout permit.  
This event is designed to enable leaders with any level of personal climbing experience to learn and practice the techniques necessary for a Scout Permit and to undergo a technical assessment where appropriate.  The event runs concurrently with a Scout climbing activity at the same venue, so offers the opportunity for adults with personal climbing experience to develop the party management skills necessary for leading activities for groups of young people.

The Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT) is for all paddlers irrespective of craft and anybody who may be involved with water activities. The main objective is to instruct basic safety and rescue skills that can be applied in a sheltered water environment. The course can be either boat based or bank based. It is a pre-requisite for attendance on a British Canoe Union (BCU) coach training course.
