This day gives Beavers and their parents/guardians, the opportunity to experience a variety of water, earth and field activities under the watchful eye of our instructors.
Activities will include a selection from the following: Bellboating, Open Canoeing, Climbing, Orienteering, Games and outdoor activity themed craft / creative bases.
Beavers who take part in all the activity sessions, will, subject to weather conditions, have covered the requirements of the Time on the Water Badge and may cover other badges linked to the activities provided.
An attendance certificate will be given.
The price shown is for the Beaver and Parent/Guardian, not each.
All Activity Equipment will be provided
Although the aim of the day is to provide a gentle and enjoyable introduction to activities, you may get wet during the water activities, so Beavers and their parents should each bring two sets of clothing to get wet in (clothes made of synthetic materials or thermals are best) and a pair of old trainers to wear along with a set of waterproofs (jacket and trousers) to keep the wind off.
Anybody wearing jeans or wellingtons to go on the water will not be allowed to undertake the water activities.
Remember, these clothes are in addition to those you need for the land based activities, where again you will need warm clothing , waterproofs, strong trainers, sun hat etc depending on the weather.
Do not forget a towel!
