Aim of the Course

An opportunity to develop off road bike skills.  No previous experience necessary, but participants must be competent cyclists.  The event will follow a route of approximately 32km and involve 3-4 hours cycling, mostly off road.  The activity counts towards the Scout Adventure Challenge and the Scout Cyclist badge (option B).


The visitor centre is located just off the A170 between Thirsk and Helmsley about 200m from the top of Sutton Bank.


Bikes, helmets and gloves will be provided for all riders.  Participants may use their own bicycle and equipment subject to the approval of the event leader.

In order to ensure that we have the correct equipment available we require the height of participants. What to Bring

Water bottle, packed lunch, first aid kit, sun cream and any personal cycling gear.  Waterproof jacket.  Warm clothing including trousers.
