• First Response Training

Leaders, managers and supporters in Scouting must hold a current first aid qualification at the time of gaining their Wood Badge and then renew this at intervals of no more than every 3 years.

This module is split into 2 parts: part A covers the theory and part B the practical validation. The modules aim to cover the skills and knowledge necessary to enable adults to manage an incident and provide basic first aid.

First response is a 6-hour programme and can be delivered in one of the following ways:

    • 3 x 2-hour online facilitated sessions followed by a short (15-20min) face-to-face validation session.first aid kit
    • Blended model - 2.5-hour eLearning followed by a 2.5 to 3-hour online facilitated session, followed by a short (15-20 mins) face-to-face validation session.
    • Face-to-face 6-hour training course - when COVID restrictions allow.

To access the e-learning, please follow this link and register.

Once you've completed the course, you'll be asked to complete a form and then book on to a post e-learning course through the NYS Eventbrite page.
