Can you, or someone you know, help?
We are searching for a new District Commissioner for INGLEBOROUGH DISTRICT. Ingleborough District is a small but innovative and vibrant District in one of the most spectacular and picturesque areas of North Yorkshire, ideal for Scouting adventures. Ingleborough is a very friendly and successful District, with 2 Scout Groups and 2 Explorer Scout Units, located in Ingleton and Settle, each with their own headquarters.
Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorer Scouts are all active in the District. 109 young members are supported by a team of 28 uniformed leaders and 8 sectional assistants who frequently share responsibilities and engage with their local community. They are ably assisted by a further 3 Instructors and 29 volunteers who offer administrative and additional support from time to time.
The District Commissioner is a management role and we need someone who can provide leadership, motivation and guidance to our other adult volunteers. You don’t need any prior experience of Scouting to apply for this role and we welcome applications from people of any age. The role can also be undertaken individually or as a job-share as part of a District Commissioner Team.
The District Commissioner Vacancy Pack that you’ll find HERE provides invaluable advice on this rewarding volunteer role. If you wish to apply for the role or nominate someone from within or outside of Scouting then please don’t hesitate to do so on the forms within the vacancy pack. The first round of applications and nominations will be considered by Friday 31st May, so don’t delay. Also, please don’t hesitate to forward this message to anyone outside of Scouting who you think might be interested in this exciting opportunity.
